Massimo Raoul Beckers (1994, St. Gallen, Switzerland) is a conductor based in the Netherlands.
He holds various degrees, such as a Bachelor of Arts & Culture (University of Maastricht), a Master of Musicology (University of Amsterdam), a Bachelor of Music ‘with honors’ (Utrechts Conservatory) and a diploma of the Meerjarige Dirigentenopleiding. He has taken lessons with esteemed Maestro’s such as Ivo Meinen, Jac van Steen, Hans Noyens and René Gulikers, with whom he partook in the 11th International Masterclass Conducting Technique 2026. Other masterclass teachers include Jorma Panula, John Axelrod, JoAnn Falletta, Sebastian Lang-Lessing, Jim Benjamin Roodnat and Jean-Luc Tingaud.
Massimo is the founder and conductor of the Orkest van de Utrechtse Heuvelrug, which he established in his mission to promote and perform works by (almost forgotten) Dutch composers. Some notable premieres include works such as Gerard von Brucken Focks’ 3 Gnomendansjes, Cornelis Dopper’s Intermezzo from his opera Fritjhof and the 21th century premiere of Philip Loots’ 1st Symphony. Massimo is also the conductor of the Amsterdams Studenten Orkest and has led the Notenkrakerfestival Baarn since 2025. He furthermore started conducting the Barnevelds Kamerorkest in 2026.
He frequently guest-conducted orchestras such as the Vechtstreek Symfonieorkest, OVIO, Orkest van het Groene Hart and the wind section of the Utrechts Studenten Koor en Orkest. Massimo has furthermore made appearances with orchestras such as the Siamo Orkest, Larens Kamerorkest, Symfonieorkest Valse Romantique, Orkest Crescendo Leersum (chief conductor), Westerkamerorkest, Zeister Phiharmonisch Orkest, Kennemer Consort, Alkmaars Symfonieorkest, Zwols Symfonieorkest, Gouds Symfonieorkest, Kamerorkest Driebergen, Baarns Kamerorkest Artoni, Concordia Beesd, Harmonieorkest Vleuten and NAS Nieuwegein. He has also led various choirs such as the Utrechtse Studentencantorij, Zeister Mannenkoor, Stichts Mannenkoor, Amersfoort Vocaal Ensemble, MDO-koor, Masjiach, Soester Mannenkoor Apollo, Leidsche Rijn Koor (chief conductor) and Lastage Koor Amsterdam .
Furthermore, Massimo has taught hundreds of students as a teacher in many different musical disciplines, such as composition, music theory, solfeggio/ear-training, artistic coaching, (classical) guitar, bass guitar and a wide variety of other plucked string instruments.
